About Us

Trybeta was the idea of a software developer frustrated by the fact that beta testers were so hard to find and that end users were becoming the real beta testers. When bugs and features surfaced after publically releasing an application, negative reviews were close to follow. Software developers should not be afraid to release new products or updates for fear of finding a hidden bug. Software users should not have to worry about an application crashing within three seconds of launching.

Paul Levine - President

Since 1999, Paul has been developing web development and file management products for the Mac through his software company, RAGE Software. Paul grew frustrated that from a list of almost 200 beta testers, it was getting difficult to get proper feedback with each beta version sent out to these users. Managing each beta program was difficult due to the lack of structure and communication between beta testers. Paul saw this frustration in many other microISVs and decided he had to do something to help.

Mike Levine - Programmer

For almost 10 years Mike has been developing web sites and providing web hosting to clients from around the world. As an avid software user, and an avid complainer, Mike grew frustrated each time he used an application that did not do exactly what he wanted it to do. This made it extremely easy for Paul to convince Mike to start working on TryBeta.
